Graciosa is the northernmost island from the five that make up the Central Group of the Azores Archipelago, with São Jorge, 37 km away, being the closest island. The ovular Portuguese island has an area of 60.65 square kilometres, a length of 10 kilometres and a width of 7 kilometres. Its main tourist attractions are Furna do Enxofre, Carapacho and some churches and windmills.
